WHO IS SHE

LILLY MORTIS is a singer, MC, writer and dramaturge working across cabaret, immersive theatre and film. As a performer and artistic director, she is recognized as a defining voice of Berlin’s contemporary cabaret scene, merging the legacy of historical Kabarett traditions with contemporary expression.

With KABARET CLUB at Ballhaus Berlin, Lilly brings her vision of the ultimate Berlin Kabaret to life. Where the subversive spirit of 1920s Kabarett meets high fashion, live music, and nightclub culture. Staged in one of Berlin’s most historic ballrooms, KABARET KLUB  creates a large-scale immersive experience - a contemporary Kabaret Gesamtkunstwerk.

​With her regular KABARET LILIUM in Kreuzberg, Lilly has created Berlin's moste decadent salon presenting live music, immersive theatre, drag and burlesque in an intimate, audience-centered format fuelled by radical joy.​

As a co-founder and part of the curatorial and dramaturgical team of the Queer Performance Festival (QPF) Berlin, she aims to create a home for bold, boundary-pushing queer performance and nurturing artistic dialogue, collaboration and community.

​Lilly has graced major cabaret stages and theatres across Europe as singer and compère of dictinguished productions. She is a longtime conferencière of Bohème Sauvage and  resident hostess at Berlin Burlesque Festival and  House of Luxor.

Lilly is a founder of The Velvet Creepers and was the singing host and dramaturg of the performance trio till 2025, shaping the group’s artistic identity as central figure on stage and writer behind the scenes.

​Alongside her performance career, Susanne Heuer works as screenwriter and dramaturge with funfairfilms. She is the author and dramaturg of the documentary Teaches of Peaches (2024), which received the Teddy Award at the Berlinale, and KITKATCLUB – Kinks of Berlin, which was awarded best documentary" at PFF Vienna. 

​Before finding her artistic home in Berlin, Susanne Heuer lived in London, where she lectured in German language, culture, and translation at King’s College. She studied linguistics, literature, and gender studies at the University of Regensburg.​​
